Duval St. Boutique and Wellness Cafe Closing for Business

Message from our Owner, Jennifer Hulse Russo:
Like many residents of our island community, Key West is my adopted home, having been pulled to our island paradise over 15 years ago to escape the cold winters of Kentucky and embrace the eclectic lifestyle of our sunny, salty island. What an adventure it has been - from starting a law practice to meeting my husband to being blessed with the opportunity to grow the business known as The Green Pineapple - life in the Florida Keys has been magical and never boring.
In that time, I have come to consider so many of you in this community, and especially at The Green Pineapple, as my Key West family. However, over the past year, I have decided to take a step back from the business to help care for a member of another family, the one that gave me life. After losing my father, my mother has presented with certain health challenges that now impact her ability to live safely on her own. To help provide the happiest life for her, it has become clear that my husband Ed and I will need to spend more of our time in Kentucky and likely less time in the FL Keys.
Unfortunately, this decision requires that we streamline our operations at The Green Pineapple. Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that I announce we will be closing our business at 1130 Duval St, including the Duval St boutique and the Wellness Cafe. Our last day in business will be Sunday, Feb. 23rd.
Our last farm-to-table wine-paired dinner at Duval St. will be hosted on February 12th. Sadly, the previously scheduled dinners for March-May will need to be canceled. If you have purchased a ticket to any dinner beyond Feb, we will begin issuing refunds but we may need your assistance to process. Please contact the Wellness Cafe to process any refunds on dinner tickets.
However, there is some bittersweet news. The Green Pineapple boutique in Bahama Village, located at 310 Petronia in business and fully stocked with all of your favorite designers for men and women, plus our mix of handcrafted jewelry, local art, and unique gifts. St., will remain. We hope Petronia St. will become your new destination for your favorite finds. Take a stroll in Bahama Village for some of the best restaurants and shopping the island offers.
Please stay tuned for information on events and specials at our 1130 Duval St. location over the next few weeks as we wind down our operations. We hope you can stop by to delight in the beautiful space and share one last meal or glass of wine with us.
On a personal level, growing and sharing The Green Pineapple has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Working with a team of such talented, unique individuals has brought me joy each day. I will forever be grateful to our brilliant and creative executive chef, Layla Barr, for both your passion and your compassion. Watching you work and care for others has inspired me in immeasurable ways. And to Rebecca Schwab-Talpas, for your loyalty from the start, your patient guidance and your quiet leadership. You will continue to see Rebecca in our Bahama Village boutique as she works to help refine and enhance The Green Pineapple brand.
The Green Pineapple will continue to inspire our global family to live a conscious lifestyle through our product offerings, heartfelt connections, and shared stories. Thank you for all of your love and support over the years and as we transition into the next evolution of The Green Pineapple.
Love, Jen
